Claire Scarlett
Therapeutic Play Practitioner and Counsellor
Claire began her career in business administration before moving into education in 2014 as a teaching assistant. She has since worked as a childminder, out-of-school manager, and in various support roles within schools.
She qualified as a counsellor with a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2023, completing a placement in a primary school with Place2Be, and later earned a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Since September 2024, Claire has worked with CEWB as a Therapeutic Play Practitioner in primary schools.
Claire specialises in working with children and has a strong interest in neurodiversity, completing training on the Functionality of Neurodivergence in Children and Young People. She supports children through issues including bereavement, anxiety, autism, ADHD, family challenges, parental separation, anger, friendship difficulties, and trauma.
Working integratively with a person-centred core, Claire offers creative, playful opportunities for children to explore and process challenges, building positive therapeutic relationships in a safe, accepting space.
Outside of work, Claire is kept busy by her two teenagers and enjoys reading, learning, watching drama series, walking, and singing along to the radio — much to her teens’ dismay.
