Clare Hancox

Therapeutic Play Practitioner and Counsellor

Claire is a qualified Creative Psychotherapist with a warm and honest approach to counselling. Her professional qualifications include an MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling, QLS Level 5 in Counselling Child Trauma, Level 3 & 2 in Counselling, and she is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Before becoming a therapist, Claire worked for over 20 years in the Social Care sector. She believes that supporting a child’s mental health is essential for them to thrive in life. Her counselling experience includes working as a lead mentor on a Mental Health Literacy Programme within primary and secondary schools, as well as providing counselling for children and young people in the charity sector.

Claire’s early studies were arts-based, and she enjoys painting and creating artwork in her downtime. She integrates creativity into her therapeutic work, specialising in non-verbal approaches that help children express their feelings and process experiences they may struggle to put into words.
