Jo Whalley

Managing Director

Jo is a qualified counsellor with more than 20 years of experience in the education sector.

She has supported children, staff, and families through play therapy,
counselling, and family guidance, and previously worked as part of the NSPCC Lancashire Schools Team. When the service was disbanded, schools invited Jo to continue her work independently.

Demand for her support quickly grew through word of mouth and in 2011, Jo founded Jo Whalley Counselling Services, which has since evolved into CEWB: Complete Emotional Wellbeing. Under her leadership, CEWB now partners with over
60 schools across more than 11 Local Authorities, delivering a wide range of tailored services including play therapy for children, staff wellbeing programmes, and
supervision for SLT, DSL, and SENCo teams.

Family is central to Jo’s life and values, and CEWB reflects this, with her son Andrew, husband John, and cousin Nikki all part of the team. Away from work, Jo loves nothing more than spending time in the lake district, rain or shine, even if it is just for a few hours at the weekend… and enjoys an extremely weak cup of coffee!
